Afarin Chitsaz, a former actress who appeared in Dayereh-e zangi (Tambourine) a 2008 film about the politics of getting satellite TV installed in a country where it is illegal, covered foreign policy stories for the state-run newspaper Iran. Chitsaz was arrested on accusations of having links to Western countries, according to local reports. At the time of CPJ's 2015 prison census, authorities had not disclosed her health status, whereabouts, or any charges against her.
